Every pregnancy is unique and no one can possibly know another person’s circumstances. But Prop 115 does not allow for any complexity — even in cases of rape, when there are risks to the woman’s health or a lethal fetal diagnosis. It’s a one-size-fits-all mandate that inserts politics into personal medical decisions that are best made between a woman and her family, in consultation with her doctor and in alignment with her faith.
Bottom line: As Coloradans, we can agree that women and families must be met with compassion, especially when they’re already facing extraordinarily painful and difficult decisions.
